My Actual Story: Well yes, after getting rejected for being a male aesthetician i wanted to bring this to our society's eye as I do think it was wrong of Employers to reject me due to my gender and/or sexual orientation. So as I talk discrimination I am talking to those employers who broke the Human Rights Code as they flat out expressed their discomfort with me as a professional. Was I talking about you lady clients not wanting a Brazilian wax from me? NO ! If you, as a CLIENT, are uncomfortable with a male therapist, then as a professional I accept your comfort level and it is not in my eyes discrimination! EMPLOYERS not CLIENTS! So the awareness is out now and my message has grabbed the attention of beauty professionals across Canada & the USA. Thanks again to all my supporters! And to all you business owners that rejected me , take notes and learn from this mistake. I invite you to witness my success as a Male Aesthetician in the local area..
WOW !! Now that I got that off my chest let me talk about why I started this fabulous beauty blog!
As being in the beauty industry since the age of 15 I always loved beauty and fashion! As my fabulous hair-guru friend Anne-Marie from (her blog) once said 'Our client is a direct reflection of ourselves.' Well its never been as well said, the clients I serve are my walking billboards. From the glowing skin to the FAB sculpted brow, I believe in striving to build strong client relationships by connecting with people on a positive energy level. Recognizing the delicate balance between beauty services and holistic treatments, I always make sure my client feels good about themselves and looking beautiful to their standards. Forget about following trends and celebrity looks etc.., I help my clients find their natural beauty from their style and personality!
Also being so intimate with my clients, I make sure to build that trust with my clients and not just being your facialist or makeup artist. People then trust me with their secrets, and reveal their true personality whether they come off as the 'bitchy' , 'difficult', or even 'quiet' client. What they don't include in our job description is the amount of counselling we do! From wedding proposals, to failures/ success life stories...The real magic of my job is to be able to make sure I can connect with my client making sure they know during that 60-min appointment that nothing is about me and ALL about you!
Enough about me and now lets talk Beauty ! Keep up with my posts and I will make sure to capture your attention! This blog will be better than flipping through Vogue, I swear..or at least that's my intention.
Comments & Suggestions are always welcome as in the end I am here for you and only you so don't be afraid to be self-absorbed .... I know I am!
XOXO
