Confidence is Beauty

I wanted to take a moment to talk about a good friend Carmella.
The fiercest & biggest Diva I know.

..but hey why not be a diva when you can pull off a different wig & persona each night!
This is Carmella Kature who can also be known as Ottawa's hot drag queen.

Practically owning The Lookout in the Byward Market.

I love Carmella's style, fashion and looks over the past 5 years. Her confidence has lead her to pursue her goals as a successful drag performer. With her signature outfits she has pulled off the hottest looks,  paired with a beautifully sculpted face with her talent as a makeup Guru. Her impeccable contouring has left me speechless, as well as those great natural facial features.

Now one thing we would never expect from such a beautiful individual is some flaws. As generations are passing and with social media being so open we are seeing that everyone has flaws. Now the question is, are we going to let those flaws affect us as beings or work with them to make them a part of our great personalities and gain stronger Confidence?
This wonderful individual is a great example of accepting your flaws and letting those flaws mold you into the successful, confident & beautiful person we all have the capability of being.

These are some words Carmella had to say about her flaws growing up being the person she has become.
'A good looking #person, someone you #love#creativity, pain and flaws are a lot #deeper than the outside. They say a picture is worth a #thousand words but its you that tells the story. I've battled #accute cystic acne for most of my life. Leaving me scarred, self consious and even ashamed where I felt I had to cover up who I am. Hide from peoples judgement. I have times where finding reasons to love myself was difficult. Then I sit back and remember who I am inside, how much I have accomplished and how much I have to offer . NEVER forgetting where I came from and everything that has literally molded me into who I am today. You are loved scars and all and I want you to remember that too. The scars do not define me, I am happy. Those who can not accept you flaws and all don't deserve you in any sense of the term.

I wanted to share this with everyone since I think that it's so important for us to be confident in our beauty. Inner beauty is just as important as outer beauty. So the purpose of sharing this amazing story is to gain awareness that not only we all have flaws but how confidence can really affect our outlook on life. Especially in a society where image is so important and judgement is part of our culture we have to surpass the norms by being extravagantly positive and confident in ourselves & offer nothing but genuine love to our ourselves.

This is by far my favourite episode of ANTM when Tyra wanted her models to have a shoot with personal flaws 'Flawsome'.

Hope this was an eye opener for some of you out there always trying to hide your flaws and pretend their not there! Be confident as the new definition of beauty is confidence & inner beauty.
