Merry Christmas from Emm!
Read ahead for my top 4 beauty picks of 2014!
Hope everyone had a great Christmas with lots of food, friends, and wine!
When it comes to the holiday season, the best thing to do is staying warm and cozy at home and create new and improved beauty regimens!
Here are a few new products I included in my beauty routine up to date. (Of course simplified)
As a lover of hair and makeup, here are the new items I started using in 2014.
Diorshow Mascara by Dior
This mascara has been arround for quite some time! I've been using this mascara for about 2 years now. With the XXL brush this gives you those extensive lashes and makes em' look like extensions.
How to use: apply to clean lashes at end of makeup application. For a more dramatic heavy night look, apply a little more pressure when whisking on mascara. For lighter day use, gently brush the mascara starting at tips of lashes working your way into the lash root (this way you won't get a heavy application). Either way this Dior Madcara will leave your lashes looking like mine from the picture above, just like a Mag-Shot.
(Thanks to a great friend Séréna for getting me a new one for Xmas 2014)
L'Oréal Miss Manga Mascara
This volumous mascara is a new product to my regimen, and for a l' Oréal mascara (which I don't usually use) is actually an acceptable quality mascara that won't leave your wallet thirsty! This waterproof formula is great and my favourite is the brush again. It has a bendy flexible end and creates volume by having a flexy/bouncy effect when applying the mascara! I'm in love and this is a great mascara to wear if you will be working or outside in the snow as its waterproof!
Also the brush is a good small-medium size which allows great application for the bottom lashes (bigger/average brush sizes tend to be a bit big to use on lower lashes).
L'Oréal Total Repair 5
As we know, I have my hair lightened/chemical treated to have my beautiful blonde. Being a blond, you need to nourish your treated hair so that it can actually feel like hair! I've been using it for a few weeks now and I'm in love. It reminds me of professional quality, even though I got this in the drugstore.
How to use: after second shampoo, quickly towel dry hair and apply mask starting from ends-roots and leave in for 5-8 minutes. Making sure your hair has minimal moisture before applying as it will penetrate deeper into the hair cuticle.
My hair is silky in weight and in feel after this mask! You won't be upset!
Salon Grafix Play It Big! Shaping Hold Volumizing Hair Spray
This a new company for me and I'm kinda happy I found this at Shoppers Drug Mart! For a $15 hairspray it's actually good quality! I usually use Schwarzkopf hairspray and they are my top pick but this is a good new spray that I might use for a bit!
Some firm hold hairsprays tend to flake easily and make you look like you have dandruff but not this one, this one if actually had in my hair for 3 days of wear and it worked like wonders! Now keep in mind as a blind I can get away with extended hair shampoos, so only recommended for people with ash blond hair. The aerosol doesn't seem as heavily parfumed as other hairsprays so I like this as well!
How to use: spray to hair to style accordingly, quite a firm hold so beware of how long you spray for!
Perf!
So these little holiday secrets to my beauty regimen has been leaving me look hot and sexy for the season.
Stay tuned for my holiday skin care regimen!
